My streak of one-year-olds continues (it’s been so fun)! I had a blast photographing Samuel for his 12 month family session a couple weeks ago at their home. They have the perfect location for photos, and the nice thing about using a client’s own property is it’s personal to them, and also always quiet. We never need to worry about events or other sessions taking place! 🙂
They had an area where Samuel’s daddy was growing corn – what a great accomplishment! It only made sense that we took many of our photos right there in front of them. They created a great backdrop – full of visual interest, but also what a great way to document the hard work that they did with their own hands.
By the way, I am returning to Samuel’s house next weekend to do a video session for them! Continuing education is very important to me, as a professional. So, this past month, I took on videography! This will be my first “video only” session, and I can’t wait. This family has the perfect setting for it, with their land, lots of growing things, chickens, and beautifully-lit home.
When we had finished taking some family photos, it was time for Samuel to smash cake. He dug right in and loved it! Finally, the nice thing about doing this at their home, was we were able to finish with a sink bath!
Isn’t his smile contagious?
They had this adorable wooden high chair they had painted yellow. I seriously need to get one of these high chairs now that I’m doing so many milestone sessions. I’m so glad I started offering Baby’s First Year plans a year ago!
While we are doing a fully video session soon, I’m still going to share their slideshow from this session! Here it is!
