Hayden’s mama had inquired with me months ago. I didn’t hear back from her, and I assumed perhaps she had decided against booking. I am not one to worry too much when I don’t hear from someone. The process of choosing a photographer and, for a photographer, taking on a client, is a lot like dating. It’s so important for the photographer and the client to be the right fit for each other, and it definitely goes both ways! So when Hayden’s mama reached out to me again, I was thrilled to hear from her. She explained that Hayden was born at 28 weeks, and was still in the NICU. I hated hearing about all they’ve been through, but was so happy to learn Hayden is quite the fighter.
I got to meet Hadyen at his Cardinal Glennon NICU session. He is incredibly sweet, gorgeous, and still so tiny although he has grown a lot! He didn’t want to show us his eyes at first, but he finally did, and that was a treat. I loved his expressions and it was easy to see just how strong he is.
First, here’s a video of our entire session, along with a few live video footage clips!
I loved the way his toes fit in her fingers as she was holding him. It’s clear she can’t get enough of every single part of him!
Looking at his mama. 🙂
This is how she would connect with him when he was in the enclosed bassinet and couldn’t be held as much. Just his teensy fingers on hers.
Such a perfect little bear!
St. Louis and nearby IL people – did you know that I offer NICU photography? I am always happy to photograph these special babies, and I am able to take on a few a year free of charge.
